This poster advertises the 1950 Boston Jubilee, a five-day festival sponsored by the Boston Chamber of Commerce aimed at ?boosting? the city with pageantry, store sales, tours, concerts, and related events. The poster depicts a rocket ship in outer space, Shem Drowne?s famous grasshopper weathervane, and the Boston city seal. In the 1940s, Nason created a well-known series of posters for the New Haven Railroad, and all of Nason?s known poster work is concentrated to New England vacation and travel destinations.
