[xxiv], [1]-280 [sic]; 304 pp. Volume I ends on p. 280, "T" in the "Table" section, presumably lacking one or two leaves of the "Table." Bound in contemporary full calf, boards ruled and paneled in blind, rebacked to style in later calf, ruled in blind and numbered in gilt in compartments, five raised bands, brown gilt morocco lettering labels, later endleaves. SECOND ENGLISH EDITION, EXPANDED FROM THE FIRST EDITION, BRINDLEY ISSUE. This copy lacks the frontispiece and plate facing p. 36 in volume II. 

Bindings worn, soiled, joints worn, hinges starting, text and plates toned and occasionally thumbsoiled or foxed, contemporary ownership signatures on title-pages, and a few ink markings in text, a few gutters overopened. Good.
