This is somewhat unusual, as this copy has the hand-colored portrait of Pocahontas, which is normally considered to be a hallmark of the first edition. This book was written by McKenney to create feelings of sympathy of the general public for the Native American tribes (this was issued before the annihilation of the western tribes).
