Condition

Toned, repaired and reinforced with tissue, a few marginal tears. Fair. A RARE PRO-CONFEDERATE CIVIL-WAR ERA NEWSPAPER, ADVOCATING FOR KENTUCKY'S ENTRY IN THE CIVIL WAR AS CONFEDERATES. This paper has numerous articles highly critical of Abraham Lincoln and the North, highlighting various defeats of Union forces of the time. As of the publication date of this issue, Kentucky was officially neutral in the Civil War, but they would enter the war in early September of the same year.
