Notorious B.I.G. July 4, 1995 Concert and Brooklyn Memorial Photograph Archive (Nas & Mobb Deep, approx. 51 images). Circa 1995–1997. Group of approximately 51 color snapshot photographs documenting both a July 4, 1995 hip-hop concert and the subsequent Brooklyn memorial following the death of Christopher Wallace (The Notorious B.I.G.). There are concert images (16 photographs) including multiple views of Biggie performing on stage, along with backstage and behind-the-scenes scenes, and additional appearances by Nas and members of Mobb Deep. One photograph shows a venue-issued credential sticker reading “7/4/95” and “HOUSE,” indicating house/backstage access and suggesting a Civic Center venue. The memorial images (35 photographs) document the Brooklyn gathering and funeral procession following Wallace’s death, depicting crowds, police presence, street scenes, media coverage, and floral tributes including a clearly legible “Rest in Peace Christopher Wallace” arrangement, together forming a compelling vernacular record spanning both Biggie’s active performance career and the immediate public response to his death, housed in a New York City souvenir photo album. Each approximately 4 x 6".
