Two of these titles (Master & Commander and The Far Side of the World) were the basis of the 2003 film, Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World starring Russell Crowe as Aubrey and Paul Bettany as Maturin; the film was directed by Peter Weir, and garnered several Academy Award nominations, and won for cinematography.
