Opium scale in carved wooden case with swivel lid. [China or Thailand (?), ca. 1880s]. Scale with wooden balance arm, 1 metal bowl, and 1 small elephant weight, with attachment strings. Wooden balance arm approximately 275 mm long. In carved wooden case (similar in shape to a guitar) with lid which swivels at the upper end, and with sliding metal ring fastener. Box approximately 360 mm long.
