[ORIGAMI]. Victorian Album of Folding Paper and Origami Samples. Circa 1890. Clothbound display album of hinged sheets gilt stamped with a patterned border and the title “FOLDING” to the front. The interior holds a double-sided accordion-folded collection of origami samples pasted in place to demonstrated the various folds a possible with a single small sheet. Approximately 190 designs in all, neatly mounted to the pages, including figures in the shapes of pinwheels, boxes, and even a man in a hat. Approximately square 8vo. Well-preserved with only a few loose samples or any with wear. An unusual and special album of handmade origami-like forms.
