[Ca. 1850s-1860s] This is a rare commemorative, a cast pot metal equestrian statue of the Duke most probably created shortly after his death in 1852. The finely sculpted, painted figure is 5 x 16 x 13?, mounted on a wood base and very detailed for a cast metal piece of this type. Hands and reins have been repaired, some wear to paint. A good example of this rare figure. Wellington rarely wore the depicted uniform outside social events.
