This fine oval portrait of the Allied Austrian commander, Field Marshal Count Radetzky was taken from an official portrait of the Count already published at the time. Although the artist has not been identified, there is a signature ?M? on the right side of the portrait. Sight approximately 3 ? x 2 ??. Brass frame under glass. Frame sizes approximately 3 ? x 3?. Light occasional rubbing, but color is still vibrant. Fine. Radetzky commanded considerable influence within the Allied armies and was promoted to Chef d'Etat to General Schwartzenberg at the time of the Battle of Leipzig, in October 1813.
