Pair of Large Mickey and Minnie Mouse Marionette Puppets. Circa 1930s/40s. Exceptional pair of large and early wooden marionettes depicting pie-eyed Mickey and Minnie Mouse. Jointed arms and legs, moving heads, and moving mouths. Painted wooden heads and bodies with leather around the articulated mouths. Mickey wears felted shorts, Minnie fabric skirt with sewn-on felt polka dots. Both with leather ears; Minnie with metal eyelashes. Square wooden control bars. Height of both figures approx. 18?. Provenance: Virgil Harris Mulkey (1900-1989); John Daniel (1931-2011).
