The Literature of Papermaking was Hunter's first folio work on the history and art of papermaking. It is the printer's mark on the title-page which identifies this work as Mountain House Press; whenever a new book was printed by Hunter, he would add a leaf to the branch on the mark; there are four leaves on the branch of this title.
