Original gilt-lettered teal green cloth with a gilt central medallion of Peary on upper cover, pictorial stamped on spine and rear cover in white, uncut. Provenance: Donald A. Harvey (embossed library stamp on ffep). FIRST ENGLISH EDITION published the same year as the first American edition. A FINE COPY of Peary?s cornerstone work of his account of his achievement of the pole introduced with high praise by Theodore Roosevelt. Arctic Bib. 13230.
