?Pepper Shaker? Coin Vase. English [?], ca. 1880. Turned boxwood vase simulates the appearance of a pepper shaker. A coin is placed inside, and the lid is screwed on. It is heard rattling about, yet vanishes from the interior. Height 4 ??. Handsome example. Uncommon.
