HOUDINI, Harry (Erik Weisz, 1874 - 1926). Photograph of Houdini Restrained by French Police. Circa 1909. Houdini stands on a film set resembling a jail cell, restrained by six French policemen. One holds a straitjacket. On a plain card mount, 5 5/8 x 6 1/2". This image was captured during the filming of a silent movie entitled Les Merveilleux Exploits du Célebre Houdini, which was the magician's first film. He went on to star in several other movies in the late 1910s and early 20s.
