Political Euchre. Philadelphia: L. Lum Smith, 1888. Complete deck of 52, plus four jokers. Deck consists of 48 cards representing U.S. states and territories including their electoral votes and sitting governor, four bower cards depicting the Democratic and Republican presidential candidates, and three jokers with political slogans and illustrations. All edges gilt. A game of “political euchre” patented by Smith in 1884 for that year’s election. This is an 1888 version with redesigned cards. See Hochman P20.
