Bust portrait of Houdini in tuxedo and bowtie, boldly inscribed “Harry Handcuff Houdini” to “L. Hoffman”, most likely Louis Hoffmann, known otherwise as Professor Hoffmann, the prolific and important magician-author of the landmark volume Modern Magic (1876) and many other works. 7 x 5”. Embossed studio stamp lower left. Scrapbook remnants to verso. Tackholes, ink splatter, scuffs and light soiling.
