[POTTERY]. [NELSON, Lord Horatio (1758-1805), subject]. Scarce Limited Edition Royal Doulton Lord Nelson Loving Cup. [Burslem: Doulton & Co., Limited, ca. 1935]. This commemorative cup by Charles Noke and Harry Fenton was issued in 1935 in a limited edition of 600. THIS COPY WITH THE RARE HAND-NUMBERED CERTIFICATE (#394), SIGNED BY NOKE. Approximately 10 ? x 10 ?? at the handle. The lower rim reads ?England Expects / It Was In Trafalgar Bay?; the handles feature ropes with block and tackle ornamentation. A very scarce ceramic. Loving cup is fine, certificate is toned and worn.
