Punch and Judy Puppets and Stage. English [?], ca. 1950s. Attractive set of puppets and folding wooden stage with striped cloth exterior. Eleven puppets, including nine with carved wooden heads: Punch, Judy, the crocodile (with apparatus for shooting air or water from his nose), a skeleton (with blinking eyes, in need of repair), and others. Stage proscenium ornamented with the letter “C” at its apex. Stage standing approximately 10’ high. Wear from professional use evident; minor repairs to stage required, but good condition overall. A handsome set used by a professional puppeteer, most likely in Australia or New Zealand.
