Ralph Records Ephemera Archive. Ralph Records/ The Cryptic Corporation: San Francisco, 1972-1989. Ralph Records remains considered of the country’s pioneering independent record labels; investing in experimental and avant-garde musicians of the time. Started by the avant-garde collective, The Residents, the label signed those who often combined visual art, performance, and conceptual ideas as much as music. Notable artists included: Snakefinger, Tuxedomoon, Renaldo & the Loaf, MX-80 Sound, Yello, Fred Frith, Nash the Slash, Clubfoot Orchestra and, of course, The Residents. Archive Includes:

Two pieces of The Residents band ephemera from their 1982-1983 Mole Show tour, a stage retelling of The Mark of the Mole and The Tunes of Two Cities albums, including:

1. The Mole Show touring production credits
2. The Residents / The Complete Residents Handbook flyer.

The theatrical production financially burdened Ralph Records and is cited as a catalyst for the label's eventual cessation.
