RAMSAY, John (1877 ? 1962). Four Ramsay Manipulation/Advertising Thimbles. British, ca. 1950. Four stamped metal aluminum thimbles bearing the text ?John Ramsay / Conjuring Entertainer / Ayr? around their bases, the letters offset by colored enamel. Includes all color variants known: red, blue, black, and dark green. The latter example in dark green is the first we have encountered. Sold together with a charming vintage snapshot of Ramsay as a young man manipulating thimbles outdoors.
