HARBIN, Robert (Ned Williams, 1908 - 1978). Robert Harbin's Master Note in Cigarette Prototype. 1944. A bespoke gimmicked cigarette pack and loading device, devised and crafted by Robert Harbin, and submitted to Davenports for consideration. Includes the aluminum slide/holder/loading device and a prepared box of Craven "A" Virginia Cigarettes with special metal insert, allowing the magician to reproduce a borrowed, marked banknote inside a cigarette. Includes the original mailing wrapper addressed to Davenports magic shop, and a two page illustrated ALS from Harbin to George Davenport explaining the apparatus and its use, and including an illustration in Harbin's hand showing the method behind the trick. Offered with a later photo of Harbin, a copy of his first book, Something New In Magic (1929), and a handwritten receipt for a second hand illusion SIGNED by Harbin, from the Davenport collection.  

Harbin's note states, in part, "here is the greatest winner of all time ... I want a good share of this "Georgie" [Davenport] no fooling - this is teriffic, as you can se - it is the first real answer to the problem."
