Original typescript of an unpublished novel about the behind-the-scenes world of the circus. 4tos. With numerous original gouache drawings throughout. Three volumes. 140; 138; 89 pp. Bound in contemporary half tan buckram over boards, with pictorial label of a clown on each cover and printed spine number labels with manuscript titles. Each volume with tabs on fore-edges to indicate original artwork. Tipped into volume I is a typed note signed, presenting this manuscript to circus collector Jos? Dugardein. Some occasional wear, light soiling. A superb and unique item.
