RYMILL, John (1905?1968). Southern Lights: The Official Account of the British Graham Land Expedition 1934?1937. Introduction by Hugh Robert Mill. London: Chatto and Windus, 1938. Royal 8vo. Numerous sepia toned illustrations from photographs, 4 maps (3 folding). Original green cloth, gilt spine, green top edge, in the uncommon price-clipped dust jacket (cloth spine a bit toned, light rubbing to binding; jacket spine toned, chipped, some toning, wear, marginal tears and chips to jacket). Very good. FIRST EDITION, IN THE UNCOMMON DUST JACKET. A first-person narrative of this important expedition that established Graham Land, in the Weddell Sea, was actually part of the Antarctic Continent and not an archipelago. Conrad 296; Spence 1016.
