[SALESMAN'S SAMPLE]. Metal and Wood Salesman's Sample of a Horse-Drawn Grain Reaper. [Ca. 19th - 20th century]. Hand-built wood and metal (brass and more) model of an elaborate horse-drawn grain reaping machine with numerous cogs, in which the reaping blades rotate when the machine moves through fields. Saddle is painted red; lever and foot peddle move pieces on the reaper. 24 x 18 x 7". Some wear, soiling, cogs need adjustment in order for blades to rotate. Very good. An elaborate and unusual machine (it is unclear if this machine went into production).
