Rapp (no relation to Augustus Rapp), an American magician practicing in the first quarter of the twentieth century. Neatly written descriptions and working behind various tricks, most in a fine hand in dark ink, and including sleight-of-hand feats and apparatus magic, the methods behind tricks manufactured by Thayer, Grant, P&L, and others, as well as chemical formulas for bouncing soap bubbles, lists of gags and patter, card marking systems, and more. Many entries well-illustrated by Rapp with detailed diagrams of the mechanical working of tricks. A few pasted-in newspaper illustrations accompany entries. Approximately 75 loose-leaf pages in a small clothbound three-ring binder, approximately 8vo, with wear from age as expected but very good condition overall.
