Wood-engraved frontispiece of a ghost terrorizing a man holding a pistol. Illustrations, some full-page. 8vo. Backstrip perished, wraps chipped, pale staining to corners. A scarce treatise explaining methods in alchemy, magic, astrology, fortune-telling, and various occult sciences. It also exposes the tricks of the Davenport Brothers, illustrates the method behind Pepper?s Ghost and magic lanterns, as well as other tricks.
