This is an auction replete with standouts. Works by Magritte, Tamayo, Paschke, Wirsum and multiple mixed media collages and prints from the celebrated Tony Fitzpatrick will cross the block. A significant work by Bill Traylor leads the Outsider Art session, alongside major works by Finster, Yoakum, Dial, Sparrow, and Dawson. Folk art includes a carved grotto Jesus and Devil train set sculpture from Wisconsin, and three oversize leaves by Ivan Albright lead the fine art session. Various stickers, annotations in pencil, and stamps to reverse, including an 'Underwood & Underwood' stamp. Sheet: 6 1/2 x 8 1/2". 

 

The Chiatura manganese mines in central-western Georgia, along the Qvirila River, are one of the largest manganese deposits globally, with reserves of 239 million tonnes. In operation since 1879, the site is known for its high-quality sedimentary manganese ore and has shaped the local industrial town.

Condition

Scratches. Creasing and tearing, particularly to corners. Top left corner torn almost all the way, approximately 1/2". Bottom left corner torn off, measuring 1 1/2".
