The deck incorporates famous Shakespearean quotations and the courts are caricatures of famous characters from his plays including Lady Macbeth, Richard III, Catherine of Aragon, King Lear, and others. This is a first edition of this pack which was later produced by Waddingtons and others; a modern version with updated and modified art was also issued.
