[SHEET MUSIC]. [EMANCIPATION AND ABOLITIONISM]. HUTCHINSON, Jesse, Jun. (1813-1853). ?Get Off the Track!? A song for Emancipation, Sung by The Hutchinsons, Respectfully dedicated to Nathl. P. Rogers,... Boston: Published by the Author, Lithographed by Thayer & Co., 1844. Rare abolitionist sheet music. 4to. [6 pp]. Self-wrappered. 12 ? x 10?. String-binding missing, binding repaired at a later date (most likely glued - no string present). Some toning, wear, foxing, minor soiling, spine worn. Very good. The author/composer was compelled to publish this anti-slavery song because music publishers of the day refused to publish it. The Hutchinson singers were one of the most popular singers in the mid-nineteenth century. From the Mark Rucker Collection.
