[SHERLOCKIANA]. "The Three Garridebs" 16" Acetate Record. [New York]: National Broadcasting Co. Inc., 1937. A rare acetate transcription from the first televised presentation of Sherlock Holmes, an adaptation of "The Three Garridebs" which aired on N.B.C. in 1937. The center label reads: "Television Programme / November 17th 1937 / 4:15 - 4:40 P.M. / Part 1 of 1." Although the audio is unrecoverable, the record is likely the only surviving artifact from the production, Sherlock Holmes' first foray into television.

Also included are Lennox Lohr's 1940 Television Broadcasting, describing the program in detail; Peter Haining's The Television Sherlock Holmes; and the 1930 "Conan Doyle Speaking" 78RPM record from Gramophone Co. Ltd. records.

Condition

Audio on "Garridebs" acetate is unrecoverable. Fair.
