SHERWIN, Henry Alden (1842?1916). Original Studio Photograph of Henry Alden Sherwin. Cleveland: Edmondson, 1912. Sepia-tone photograph (15 ? x 13 ??) of Sherwin seated with a book in one hand and his glasses in the other. Signed and dated in pencil by the studio. [Also with]: a sepia-tone photograph of his wife, Frances Sherwin. Each housed in original studio portfolios. Light spotting at margins; else fine. Sherwin, along with Edward Porter Williams, founded the Sherwin-William Company in 1866. Sherwin was also a notable rare book collector of fishing titles. His library was dubbed ?Bibliotheca Piscatoria? and was sold en bloc at Parke-Bernet Galleries in 1946.
