Silk and Water Vase. Philadelphia: Carl Brema and Sons, 1925. Spun copper vase with Grecian handles. Water is emptied from the vase; it refills repeatedly. Then, dry silk handkerchiefs of three different colors are produced from within. Three silk compartments. With original stoppers. 12? high. Hallmarked. Tarnished; good. Rare; only the third example we have encountered and the first with a hallmark. A photograph of Floyd Thayer in his workshop, showing an identical vase in the background, was the only evidence used to identify other examples of this prop we have encountered, but the hallmark on this model reveals the identity of the manufacturer.
