Approximately 4 ? x 1 ? x 2 ??. A hinged top opens to reveal a gilt silver interior with scroll-work grille. Screw off cap and silver bands. The piece is stamped with proper S Mordan & Co. production marks (?SM?) including a diamond registration stamp on the hinged top piece. Fine. An uncommon design for a vinaigrette. Vinaigrettes were used to contain aromatics dissolved in vinegar to revive swooning or fainting people, similar to smelling salts.
