SMEGMA. Last Past: New Music by Smegma  10" Acetate Demo. L.A.F.M.S: Los Angeles, ca. 1975-1976. Acetate 10" demo presenting "new music by Smegma," the punk group from Pasadena, recorded between December 1975 and January 1976 with The Los Angeles Free Music Society artist collective. Paste-on label reads "Pigface 1001 #2" with a handwritten tracklist including "Rancid [Doughs?]," "Medley: Jazz Bar Band + Venus Beach," "Virgin Mary," "Medley: 60 + Last Past," "Ellsfelt," and "Big Jerk." Note at bottom lists members Kid, Band, Reet (Eric Stewart), Ace (Ace Farren Ford), Ritz (Allen Lloyd), A-Sohn, Craig, with "PRO." In the 1990s the pioneering rock critic Richard Meltzer would join the group as vocalist.
