[SMITH, Clark Ashton (1893-1961), contributor]. "The Abominations of Yondo," in The Overland Monthly. Vol. LXXXIV, No. 4.  [San Francisco: The Overland Monthly, April, 1926]. 4to. Illustrated. [97] - 128 pp. Publisher's staple-bound wrappers. THE EXCEEDINGLY SCARCE TRUE FIRST APPEARANCE IN PRINT OF SMITH'S FIRST FANTASY, "THE ABOMINATIONS OF YONDO," ON PP. 100-101, 114, 126.

This story had been offered to Weird Tales Magazine first, but was evidently refused. This is the true first appearance, and is possibly the only copy extant in the original wrappers.

Condition

Text partially loose in wrappers, one faint vertical crease in center of wrappers and text, generally toned, worn, soiled, embossed stamp of "Carnegie Public Library" on front wrapper at upper corner. Still, a very good example of this rare and fragile item.
