Engraved portrait frontispiece in Volume I (slightly browned, offsetting to title). Full contemporary tree calf ruled in gilt tools, rebacked in early speckled calf antique gilt preserving original morocco lettering?pieces gilt (corners a bit worn, titles partially clipped at upper margin, renewed endpapers). Provenance: R.P. Lloyd (neat signature on titles); Ronald Eugene Jerome (bookplates). Fourth edition edited with a memoir by Smollett by Robert Anderson. ??
