Son of Dracula / The Mad Ghoul. Universal, ca. 1943. Hand-painted lobby display board with cut-outs from a poster (60 x 40"). Beautiful gouache lettering and ornamentation by an unknown but clearly skilled sign-painter, for a double-feature of the horror films starring Lon Chaney and David Bruce. Light wear to corners. Unsigned. A. The pictorial portion, for Son of Dracula, depicts Lon Chaney (as Count Dracula) and Louise Allbritton (as Katherine Caldwell) in the same configuration in which they appear on the original release of the insert movie poster. However this cut-out must have come from a larger poster sheet - a size not previously seen at auction.
