Spanish/Mexican Monte Dealing Box. Manufacturer unknown, mid or late nineteenth century. Heavy solid brass dealing box for the game popularized during the Mexican War (1846 – 48) and in cities along the Rio Grande and San Francisco around the the California gold rush. Raised feet. Approx. 4 x 2 ¾ x 2”. Mild rusting at one end, else very good.
