St. James School of Magic. London, [1937]. Set of 24 mimeographed lessons in A4 format with offset printed instructional photographs or illustrations accompanying the typed directions. Each lesson is separate, as issued. Minor foxing, wear to extremities and edges as expected; very good. SCARCE. In ?A Rich Cabinet of Magical Curiosities" No. 343 (2007), Dr. Dawes provides a lengthy history of this magic course. It was the successor to the Rupert Howard Course in Magic, reissued by Howard's successors just before WWII. While the original Howard version is occasionally encountered, the St. James version, offered here, is far less commonly seen.
