Strobridge Lithograph Co. Circus Poster Photo Archive. Cincinnati, 1900-1918. A rare surviving record of the circus posters printed by Strobridge for Barnum and Bailey and Forepaugh/Sells circuses, consisting of approximately 50 photographs and illustrated index cards (5 x 8") most depicting single posters. Each photo or card contains a full illustration of the poster, with the poster size (by number of sheets), inventory number, and year ordered. May contain images of works that have been lost and of which no examples have survived, oversize pieces in particular. Not present in the Duke University collection. Very good.
