[CRIME SCENE]. Texas Panhandle Crime Photo Album. Circa 1930s–40s. Large 39-page scrapbook likely compiled by a member of the Amarillo Police Department, comprised of over 40 black & white photographs (many 8x 10"), several with "Police Photo" annotations in the plate, many with typed captions below describing the crimes. Includes the famous autopsy photo of Bonnie Parker (1910–1934), the scarcer view showing her right breast -- Postmortem images of Irvin "Blackie" Thompson and the stolen car he was killed in on Route 66. As well as "Indian Joe Taylor" shown as murdered by his stepson (gave the tip-off on Blackie Taylor) -- Japanese Americans preparing for incarceration in internment camps. -- Equity Bar at Old Tascaso. -- Black Jack Ketchum. -- A lumber truck toppled over. -- and multiple other graphic crime scene photographs of femicide, suicides and murder-suicides, bank robberies, shoot-outs, car accidents, fires, as well as historic photographs of the Amarillo, TX area documenting architecture, gas shortages, and Japanese internment.
