THAYER, Floyd (1877 – 1959). Archive of Thayer Ephemera, Correspondence, and Research Material. 1920s – 80s. Gathered by John U. Zweers over a period of decades, and including his extensive research archive into the Thayer family and business, as well as Thayer publications (explanatory manuscripts for tricks, a partial file of Trick of the Month Club issues, etc.), the programs for Thayer’s Golden Jubilee, photographs of Floyd Thayer, a Things Mysterious Thayer mini-catalog, newspaper and magazine clippings, correspondence from the Thayer business (ca. 1944) to Zweers, correspondence from other shops to Zweers, TLSs from other magicians and magic collectors to Zweers, plus drafts of biographies and other articles on Thayer and his business. Hundreds of pages in all filling most of a banker’s box with the bulk being copies and archival material, but still a unique gathering of material on this storied magic business and its founder.
