Binding worn, soiled, scuffed, corners bumped, rear board and endleaves dampstained, some toning, wrinkling, in text, several gutters overopened. Fair. UNKNOWN EARLY EDITION, WITH NO MENTION OF LATER EDITIONS ON TITLE-PAGE. Bodie was a Scottish magician, hypnotist, ventriloquist, who claimed he could cure a variety of ailments with electricity. His promotion of electricity for medical purposes constantly brought him into conflict with the medical profession - eventually leading to anti-Bodie riots instigated by doctors.
