Gramatky, Jr., Bernhard –Hardie” August (American, 1907 _ 1979). The Golden Cup of Kasimir. Circa 1950. Watercolor on board published in the Childrenês Hour series published by Waverley Book Company in the early 1950s in Stories of Long Ago. This image from a traditional Polish fairy tale depicts peasants in a horse drawn cart coming across narrow mountain pass upon which knights on horseback face them, under large eagle banner. Signed at bottom right. Image size is 11 _ x 7 _ inches. Signed. Edges of board slightly darkened, not touching image. Very good.
