Three Cabinet Card Portraits of Women, including Actress Flora Walsh. Circa late 19th century. Each 6 1/2 x 4 1/4".

The first, a portrait of Flora Walsh (1870-1893) in western wear posing with a sword and guns taken by Baker's Art Gallery, Columbus, OH. Walsh was an American stage actress in the late 1800s, dying young at the age of 22.

The second, a "banner lady." Full-length portrait of a woman in a white blouse and long skirt with trinkets and multiple suspended chains. By F. Donahue, Hornellsville, NY. Banner ladies were a form of street advertising in late 19th-century America. Shopkeepers hired women to serve as "human billboards," walking the streets or posing for studio photographs in elaborate garments covered with the products they were promoting.

The last, a seated woman in Victorian-era dress feeding a treat to her dog. By Chr. Hansen, in Odense, Denmark.

Condition

Minor handling wear and toning. Good.
