Oversize silver print bust portrait of the famed stage magician at the peak of his career in the late 1920s or early 1930s, mounted to a wooden frame and with the background specially treated; when slid into a light box or lit from the rear, Thurston’s portrait glows brightly while the background remains dark. Likely used as a lobby display or for exhibition in illuminated frames in movie houses. 24 x 17”. With one small tear to the lower left and general wear, but very good condition otherwise.
