This is a portrait of Dr. Robert Bishop, a past Director of the Musuem of American Folk Art in New York City. Bishop has been quoted as saying about Tolliver, ?You can hang him beside a Picasso, and you have the same kind of creativity and deep personal vision?. Right and left margins cut a bit unevenly, some marginal light chipping due to the nature of the plywood. Previous gallery stickers on verso of the Kimball Sterling Auction. Excellent.
