[TONY ALVA]. 1st Annual SoCal Bicycle Moto Cross/Skateboard Championships Trophy Duo. Southern California, 1975. Two trophies won by Tony Alva during the 1st Annual SoCal Bicycle Moto Cross/Skateboard Championships. Alva competed with the Zephyr team and came away with three titles, winning first place in the Men's 14-17 Slalom competition, 2nd place in the Men's 14-17 cross country, and 4th place in the Freestyle, solidifying his early talent in the sport.
There are very little records/ mementos from this early SoCal competition overall, but the championship's importance is not lost, especially considering the growing caliber of competitors and competitions that came shortly after, and its inclusion of another organized sport in its early years: BMX. Tallest 15 x 3 1/2 x 2 1/2".
Finish losses and tarnishing present; surface wear with losses to wings (on smaller trophy) and visible repair (at ankles of larger trophy).
