Rubbing to boards, canted, chip to flyleaf; good. Signed on the title page and the front pastedown by former owner, W.E. Robinson, who would later become Chung Ling Soo. Before relocating to England and becoming Chung Ling Soo, Robinson (who worked backstage for Herrmann and Kellar, and on stage in a variety of roles), was an ardent book collector and author on magic and its allied arts. His father operated a bookshop in New York City.
